Don't Miss the Big Game Room

The Big Game Room celebrates its 10th Year – and returns with all of your favorite events. Have a drink at the Marlin Bar while waiting for the next educational seminar to begin. Take a walk over to the Bait Rigging Station and improve your rigging techniques.  It will be hosted by Capt. Tony DiGiulian of Saltwater Professional Consulting this year. 

Don't miss the Mermaids Dance Team on Saturday in the Big Game 

The first dance team in Major League Baseball will perform on the Big Game Room state at 3:30 pm and again at 5:00 p.m. Members of the squad will meet fans and sign autographs Saturday evening on Convention Center Drive.

Win Big!

The Big Game Room at the International Boat Show will also feature a Virtual Fishing Machine and you will have a chance to win a FREE Garmin GPS.  Also, Big Game Room exhibitors will have a prize give away.  All you need to do is fill out the ballots in room B214 in the Big Game Room.

Free Fishing Classes 

Don’t miss the seminars taking place in the Big Game Room at the International Boat Show.  This year Bouncer Smith, a renowned charter fishing captain will be discussing South Florida Fishing Circles.  Peter Wright inducted to the International Game Fishing Hall of Fame and the Cairns Game Fishing Hall of Fame along with Dave Ferrell, editor of Marlin magazine will present an informative and educational seminar.  Captain Dan Kipnis, a fisheries conservationist will be talking about reefs, corals and Florida waters plus he will show pictures of trophy catches and underwater video of sea life.  Rounding up the seminars will be Scott Sky Smith who will be talking about boat maintenance and discuss “How to select the best boat for you”.

Have a Blast

Last but not least is the Big Game Room entertainment.  Pluto Shervington, a talented Jamaican Reggae musician will keep you swinging. He will be playing daily from 3:30 to 7:30 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Are you a diving and travel enthusiast?  Don’t miss new destination area right in the middle of the first floor of the Miami Beach Convention Center.  You will find everything you need from scuba products and gear to travel, resorts and boating destinations.  Do you want to take a SCUBA lesson?  No problem.  There is easy access from the convention floor to a SCUBA DIVE POOL where you can take a lesson, learn dive tips and get hands-on training.

Discover Sailing

Strictly Sail Miami and Sail Away
Do you want to experience the pleasure of sailing? Come to the Discover Sailing Tent and take begin the journey in enjoying the sport. You will get first-hand knowledge of what sailing is all about. You'll spend 60 minutes on the water with an experienced Coast Guard approved Discover Sailing skipper offering basic instruction on how easy it really is to sail. It is a free event covered with the price of show admission.

We encourage you sign up early.  This is a popular event.

Kids Aboard – Free Kids Boat Building
When: All Days of the Show
Where: Miamarina at Bayside
Give your kids the ultimate pleasure of building their own boat. Bring the kids to Strictly Sail (15 and under FREE with paid adult) and not only do they get in free; they can build a boat while they are there! Yoga Onboard — A guide for cruisers and live aboards

On board your boat or on land, regular yoga practice will give you strength, restores energy to your body and definitely gives you flexibility.  Yoga Onboard is a practical guide for introducing you to a variety of ways you can tap into your creativity; it teaches you to adapt traditional yoga postures or asana to your being as well as learning to listen to your body and come up with stimulating new postures that work for you.  
New for 2011 - Yoga will be demonstrated and instructed onboard a boat in the show.

Major Live Concert Event!
When: Saturday Night, February 19 at 6pm
Where: Miamarina at Bayside

If you arrive at the Strictly Sail gate by 6 p.m. on Saturday night (February 19), you will get to enjoy "Eric Stone Live at Strictly Sail Miami" —during the sixth Annual Latitudes & Attitudes Miami Cruiser’s Bash.  While eating FREE pizza and drinking FREE beer, you will delight at the tropical sailing sounds of the Eric Stone Band live on stage.  Latitudes & Attitudes TV will be on hand to record the concert for a one-hour special to air later. Everyone is invited!
